Too many organizations focus on skills training without building the proper foundation to harness those skills. Therefore, many training programs fail because dysfunctional issues located at the individual and organizational levels are not addressed.

Connecting is the stage where the individuals begin to form synergies with one another. This stage requires the development of a common vision, goals and values. The shipwrecked individuals now get together to build a boat.
Equipping is the stage where the individuals develop their skills to best function in fulfilling the group objectives. Everyone now is skilled to equip and operate the boat in order for the group to leave the desert island successfully.
